The Spring 2009 issue of Chapters and Loose Papers, the official SAA newsletter for students of archival science, is approaching. The newsletter, as you may already know, allows students of archives from all paths to share their ideas, experiences, and knowledge; this year we will be putting out three issues. We invite you to send us your submissions for the second of three issues we are putting out this year - we anticipate publishing in May. The continuing theme will be "Light At the End of the Tunnel", and will, as that phrase suggests, focus on projects and goals to feature and track through the year. Please keep us updated on the exciting endeavors that you wrote about in the first issue! We are also very interested in hearing of your recent events and accomplishments, including your experiences at midwinter conferences.
We encourage you to join the wiki and contribute to discussion on the open boards that can be found here, in addition to sending us your submissions. On this site you will also find RSS feeds for current topics within the industry and other useful resources.
The goals for the 2008-2009 issues of Chapters and Loose Papers are to expand the topics of the newsletter, highlight student chapter activities, reflect student interests more broadly, and engage those whose interests may not be tied solely to student chapters.
We are confident that we can meet these goals, with the help of your submissions. Do not hesitate to let us hear your opinion on any topic of interest to the archival student community – it’s your voice we represent and we cannot do so if we do not hear it!
