Editorial Board InformationThis is a featured page

The following is a general description of the Editorial Board's responsibilities. If you're interested in participating as part of the Editorial Board for the 2008-2009 Academic Year, please get in in touch with either Robynne or Daniel for further information.

There is no fixed size to the Editorial Board, nor is there a fixed term of membership. The SAA Vice President will appoint members to the Editorial Board every year, selecting from among members of SAA student chapters or independent student members of SAA. Editorial Board members may be reappointed for consecutive terms as long as they continue to be enrolled in a graduate archival education program. The SAA Vice President will each year solicit both volunteers and recommendations from current Editorial Board members to identify new Editorial Board members if needed. Consideration will be given to potential Editorial Board members’ experience with newsletter editorial and production duties, but such experience will not be mandatory.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Create and update as needed an editorial structure, a mission, and editorial policies.
  • Solicit content from SAA student chapters and independent student members of SAA, as well as from SAA elected leaders.
  • Educate student members about the range of student chapter and independent student member activities and about SAA activities that are relevant to student members.
  • Publish the newsletter online on a regular basis, hosted on the SAA website, with technical assistance from SAA’s Director of Member and Technical Services.
  • Maintain Chapters and Loose Papers wiki-site.
  • Contribute to the overall mission of SAA.
